“To Allah belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth, and Allah is over all things competent.”
📖 Quran – Surah Aal-e-Imran (3:189)
The desert wind carried a soft whisper across the golden sands as a weary traveler sat beneath a lone palm tree, his heart heavy with questions. He had spent years searching for the truth—visiting temples, reading ancient scriptures, and listening to scholars of different faiths. Yet, no answer truly satisfied his soul.
That night, beneath a sky filled with countless stars, he turned to an elderly merchant beside him. “I have traveled far and wide, seeking to understand the One True God. I have heard many names, many descriptions, but none have settled in my heart. Tell me, who is Allah?”
The old man smiled, his face weathered by years but his eyes shining with wisdom. “Ah, my friend, you ask the greatest question of all. Sit with me, and let me tell you about Allah, the One True God.”
Allah: The One and Only
The merchant picked up a handful of sand, letting the grains slip through his fingers. “You see this? Every grain is counted. Every gust of wind, every drop of rain—known, measured, and willed by Allah.”
The traveler frowned. “But I have heard of many gods—some with human forms, others who take the shape of animals or forces of nature. Is Allah like them?”
“Say, He is Allah, the One. Allah, the Eternal Refuge. He neither begets nor is born, nor is there to Him any equivalent.”
(Quran 112:1-4)
The Merciful and Loving God
The old man shook his head. “No, Allah is beyond all human imagination. He is not a man, nor a statue, nor scattered among the stars. He is the Creator of all that exists, without equal or partner.”
📖 “Allah is the Creator of all things, and He is, over all things, Disposer of affairs.” (Quran 39:62)
The traveler’s heart stirred at these words. A God who was not created, who is beyond all forms—this was unlike anything he had heard before.
The traveler’s eyes widened. “He is that merciful?”
The old man nodded. “Imagine a mother’s love for her child. Now multiply that by infinity. That is Allah’s love for His creation.”
The traveler’s lips parted in awe. He had always imagined gods as harsh, demanding sacrifices in exchange for favor. But here was a God who gave before being asked, who forgave before being begged.
“And My Mercy encompasses all things.”
(Quran 7:156)
Allah: The Sustainer of All Things
The merchant gestured toward the sky. “Do you see the stars? They do not hold themselves in place. Do you see the mountains? They do not stand firm on their own. Do you see your own breath? It is given to you in each moment by Allah.”
📝 The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said, “Allah’s Hand is full, and it is not diminished by spending. He has been giving since He created the heavens and the earth, and all that He has spent does not decrease what is in His Hand.” (Sahih Muslim, 993)
The traveler thought of the gods he had once worshipped—ones that required offerings, feared exhaustion, or needed rest. But here was a God who never tired, never weakened, and never needed anything from creation.
“Allah! There is no deity except Him, the Ever-Living, the Sustainer of [all] existence. Neither drowsiness overtakes Him nor sleep.”
(Quran 2:255)

Allah in Other Religions
The traveler was silent for a moment, then said, “But I have heard of a supreme being in other religions, too. Are they speaking of the same God?”
The merchant nodded. “Indeed. In Christianity, the word for God in Aramaic, the language of Jesus (AS), is ‘Alaha’, which sounds very much like ‘Allah.’ Even in the Bible, God is described as One.”
“Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is One.”
(Deuteronomy 6:4, The Bible)
“In Judaism, God is called ‘Elohim’ or ‘El’, which also resembles ‘Allah.’ Throughout history, people have recognized Him, but over time, some have altered His teachings.”
The traveler felt a deep sense of realization. Perhaps he had been searching for Allah all along, without knowing His true name.
A Personal Connection with Allah
The traveler sighed. “I wish I could know Him more.”
The merchant smiled gently. “You already do. Allah is closer to you than you think.”
“And We have already created man and know what his soul whispers to him, and We are closer to him than his jugular vein.”
(Quran 50:16)
The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said, “When My servant comes walking to Me, I go running to him.” (Sahih Bukhari, 7405)
Tears welled in the traveler’s eyes. He had spent years searching in distant lands, when all along, Allah had been near—listening, guiding, waiting.
That night, as he lay beneath the vast sky, he whispered, “O Allah, guide me.” And in that moment, he knew:
He had found what he had been searching for all along.

Many seek answers about God, questioning His nature and existence. But Allah is not distant, nor is He hidden—He is near to those who call upon Him.
He is the One, the Most Merciful, the Sustainer of all. He is the same God worshipped by prophets like Adam, Noah, Abraham, Moses, Jesus, and Muhammad (peace be upon them all).
To truly know Allah is to embark on a journey of faith, love, and understanding—one that fills the heart with peace and purpose.
If you are searching for Him, turn to Him, speak to Him, ask Him for guidance—He is always listening.
